I am blown away by reports that tickets to the Giants game this weekend are selling for thousands and thousands of dollars.
Ok... can we be smart about this? The game is officially one hour long. That means, you are paying about $430/min to be in a suite... in Giants stadium! We're not even talking lavish quarters here.
There ya go. Now hand over your SUV. That's essentially what you're saying.Look, I know a record will be broken and all... but is it REALLY that big of a deal? Next season will come, people will hate the Patriots, and in a few years, they'll go 1-15 just like the Dolphins did.
For $26,000, my view better look like this...I had better be hosting the post game show and sitting in the locker room, with my name on a locker... with tickets to the Super Bowl in hand--throw in the Pro Bowl, too--since it is in Hawaii.

yea, the interesting thing is that the Giants may not play their best players (Plaxico may sit for most of the game) to rest for their playoff game, so Giant fans may pay top dollar to see second-string players.
I think the Giants should play this game hard, but I suspect that they will not, especially if Patriots take an early lead... Giants will not show up in the second half if they are down by more than 14 points. It would not be worth the risk for them.
my prediction is a bigger rout than yours:

WOW! it was a lot closer than expected. The Giants did show up and played well. Man! they had the lead and went conservative in the fourth. It would have been a great upset.
Why don't you go ahead and pick the Colts over the Chargers.
